Terms of Service

Effective date: 21 July 2026

These terms govern your use of the SplitGrid application and its associated web services (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

SplitGrid is an open-source workspace terminal manager. The desktop application is distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPLv3), and your use of the source code is governed by that license. These terms additionally govern the optional hosted services we provide, including authentication and the terminal-streaming relay at splitgrid.dev.

2. Accounts and eligibility

To use the hosted features you must sign in with a supported identity provider. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the account you sign in with and for all activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

4. Your content

You retain all rights to the terminal output and other content you process through the Service (“Your Content”). By using the streaming feature you grant us a limited, transient right to relay Your Content solely to your own authenticated viewers, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the right to share it.

5. Open-source software

The SplitGrid application is provided under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPLv3), a copyleft license. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under that license with respect to the source code. In the event of a conflict between these terms and the AGPLv3 regarding the software itself, the AGPLv3 controls for the software.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE SPLITGRID MAINTAINERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the hosted services at our discretion, including for violation of these terms. The provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 4–7) will survive.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law applies to you.
